Still Here....

These past few months have been busier than ever and flew by so quickly. School is almost to an end for me. Well, my pre-reqs actually. If I get accepted this year into the Nursing program then I have another two years. I cannot believe that it has already been two years. If I don't get into the program this year then I will retake any classes to improve my grades and apply again next year, hopefully that won't happen but they only accept 30 people and I do not know how many applicants there are. Mylah turned 8 on Feb. 1st. A few days before her Birthday she asked me "Mom is my voice going to change when I turn 8?" Where do kids come up with this stuff???? Tresa answered her by stating "Mylah that happens when you are a teenager!" All I could do was laugh. I believe boys are the ones who go through the voice change;) Tim got a promotion in his job position and just found out that he is back on the promotion list for staff sergeant. So he is excited. Tresa is now reading between and kindergarten and first grade level which is amazing. We are so proud of her and happy that she enjoys school. Mylah has different strengths and has never been fond of school. We have had to make some big decisions these past few weeks. Our last parent teacher conference was quite upsetting. She is falling behind in Math and her teacher seems to think her reading needs to improve. We feel her reading has improved tremendously over the past few months. She is reading chapter books and enjoys reading now. We decided to have her tested at Sylvan learning center in the Tri-cities. She is now enrolled there four hours a week. She loves it so far and I know that this will boost her confidence and they will help her more than we have been able to. We are so proud of her for taking this leap to work extra hard! So we are doing all we can to help Mylah and hopefully she will start to enjoy school. I guess its time to renew our Costco card so we have something to do while she is there. I can at least study or we can visit the Stovers. I am so proud that Mylah has a good attitude about going. I pray that Sylvan is the ticket.

During spring break we put in a living room light and painted our hallway as well as updated a few things around the house. When I take some pictures I will post them. Well that is about it for now. Please email me your blog addresses as they were deleted when I got my new laptop. They are no longer in my favorites:(

Hi Melissa,

Congratulations on finishing this leg of your schooling!! We will be praying that you are accepted in nursing school. God has a plan especially for you!! Congratulations to Tim also on his promotion!! We will be praying for Mylah too. I have heard many positive things about Sylvan. We all have different learning styles and we will pray that this program will give her the tools she needs to excel. Miss you all! Love, Karen Snyder
